Who are we?
The Texas Association for Infant Mental Health (TAIMH) is a non-profit affiliate of the World Association for Infant Mental Health. TAIMH has addressed infant mental health issues in Texas since 1980, and is dedicated to improving the quality of nurturing family relationships for infants, young children, and their families.




Our Mission

The mission of the Texas Association for Infant Mental Health is to promote the healthy emotional development of infants, toddlers and their families.

We are a statewide organization that advances our mission by:
  • Building awareness of the critical importance of the first three years of life.
  • Supporting conditions that enhance the quality of infant and toddler/caregiver relationship.
  • Advocating for policies and practice that supports the healthy development of infants and toddlers.
  • Educating the birth to three workforce in best practice.

Our Vision

All Texas babies will experience nurturing relationships within the context of family and community.


The Texas Association for Infant Mental Health is an interdisciplinary, professional organization established to nurture and promote the optimal development of infants, toddlers, and families through relationship-based training and advocacy efforts. Incorporated in 1985, TAIMH has offered support to individuals and groups in the field of Infant Mental Health for over 20 years. TAIMH has an annual membership of over 300 infant and family professionals and chapters and regional committees throught Texas including Lubbock (West Texas AIMH), Tarrant County (Early Connection's for Children's Mental Health), El Paso (Southwest Regional Committee), Corpus Christi (South Texas Regional Committee), Austin (Central Texas Regional Committee).
